LYRICS: Counting Cars Painfree in 30 minutes 10% more tomatoes = better meal times Are you drug free? I sold drugs out of her house, You lost your children They don't live with you, They live with your father – you lost them She's a long term friend She's more like my mother Yes ma’am that is fine, but he paid his dues, He also spent a long time in jail. I asked her if she was who she was and she was. That's my sense, there is no pre-existing contract The judgement really sticks in my throat We can all move on and live our lives. Posh bingo dot com Freelander 2, 0% pr typical When I am down you understand We have fun on it. Never forget it. In this world nothing ever stops. Lickety split. Where is Harvey, I need Harvey Every home needs a Harvey. My tummy is still rumbling. Argh! Is my toothpaste giving me complete protection? Is it? Is it? Argh.

Yelling As the worm crawls out Every movement Every moment Is emphasised Livid Fluorescent new thoughts Grinding Gripping tightly to my soul I don't know what this is Do I fear the unknown? I don't know what this is But fear won't overcome me Breathing A universe in synch Every wave of life washes through Laughing because we are so small And yet of all, in this infinity, we are involved

LYRICS: The storm inside your tea cup Runneth over Troubles like an earthquake Rumbling Can't get away From the hangover Hair of the dog Is no cure Do you want me Diamond dogs Running free Out like a log No escape for you In your plastic suit Look at me Close your mouth Dismembered Burning skin Can't give my heart away Original sin Where do we go My pretty robot Reset the bone I got my head And my toolkit Deceptive goals Exceptional Yes you did say You can use it Don't pull that thread Like a child I'm wandering A drunken man, rambling

When I embarked on the Song A Day For A Year project in 2011, one of the most enjoyable aspects was collaborating with other musicians and songwriters on daily songs. By the end of the year I had worked with so many amazingly talented people, each person or group bringing something unique to the creative process. There were a few people who teamed up with me a few times, (Niall Kelly, Adam McCausland and Rachel Austin especially) and some who did a few and others who maybe came round for a few hours one day and totally changed my whole perspective on music! They all managed to lend riffs, beats, lyrics or musical ideas that enriched the sessions and led to these amazing songs. The fact that so many people were willing to give up their time and spend hours working with me, for the sole purpose of creating a piece of original music, was incredibly inspiring and gave me a sense of support and encouragement that I still hold onto, today.

Part of the motivation for SADFAY was to see what could be achieved in a day. Not to just write simple little ditties and be content with that (which would've been fine) but to see how far I could take it, each day. Some of the songs were orchestral in their instrumental reach, with hundreds of tracks and layers, others honed in on complex micro-programmed beats, some had emphasis on expressing complex emotions through poetry, others leaned on technical riffing, or complex song structure. Some songs were dissonant and angular, a challenge for the senses, others were soothing, ambient and rich. Some songs were just silly and some songs were indeed, just little catchy ditties, but that massive variety and range of styles was always exciting me, each day being a completely new creative exploration, and working with amazingly talented people guaranteed fresh perspectives and different voices for each piece.

Since doing the project I've come to realise that the collaborative days of SADFAY 2011 were the most fun and most memorable out of the entire year. Of course, I was often an awkward, directionless mess in those sessions (listen to me being interviewed by Rigsy for the BBC Radio Ulster session to get an idea), flailing about and trying my best to pull things together, but I think the results always spoke for themselves: They were testament to the passion and enthusiasm that we all shared in these songwriting sessions.

This is an incredible collection of songs and sonic art pieces, spanning a massive range of genres and moods and I hope the music lives on for everyone involved and for anyone else who discovers it!

Enjoy! ^_^
