lyrics

In a time of stone houses
There’s a crowd round a fire
There’s a danger brewing outside
Colour drains from the sky

See the birds fight the wind now
See the clouds flying hard
Trees are bending their branches
Stables rumble in the yard

There’s a stranger riding here
Another mouth we can’t afford
Many voice their objections
There is silence from many more

He offers riches of wisdom
For little room and board
As the storm growls ever closer
They unlock the door

See him hooded and weathered
See his hands tell his age
An old man, but not hunching
An old man, but still strong

"Heed the message I speak now
Don’t you waste any time,
If you want to see morning
Leave this place, right now!"

Fear and anger rise through them
"You bring a curse to us"
Before long they imprison him
Despair and much fuss

As the morning light gazes
Over land all around
Bodies scattered in death
No hooded man to be found

In this time of stone houses
Crumbled into the sea
No one knows of a greater curse
Than the storm wrought by he
